Grenade attack on mobile tower in Habba Kadal

Srinagar, June 1, KMW: A man was injured after unknown persons hurled a grenade on a mobile tower in Gadood Bagh area of Habbakadal Srinagar on Monday afternoon.
Giving details the owner of the house Ghulam Rasool Ahangar, in whose compound two mobile towers are located told KMW that family members were present in the premises when unknown persons lobbed a grenade on the mobile tower. “There was explosion as a result my brother Shahoor Ahmed suffered splinter injuries in the leg,” he said.
Ahangar added that explosion caused damage to their van (JK01X-3017) that was parked in the compound.
Police officials rushed to spot after the incident. “We have been investigating the matter,” said a police official.
After attacks on towers and people associated with telecom business in North Kashmir, this is the first such attack on any mobile tower in Summer Capital Srinagar.
