Kargil, October 17: The Department of Geology, Government Degree College Drass today organized one day geological tour to magnificent Zojila Pass and its adjacent geological sites under the expert supervision of Dr. Shoib Maqbool and guidance of Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi.

The tour aimed to enhance students’ understanding of geological formations and processes, providing them with first-hand experience of the unique terrain of Ladakh.

Participants were engaged in various activities, including rock identification, studying landforms, and understanding the region’s geological history.

Dr. Shoib Maqbool emphasized the importance of practical learning in geology, stating, “This tour allows students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, fostering a deeper appreciation for our planet’s geology.”

Students expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity to explore the breathtaking landscapes and gain insights from Dr. Maqbool’s expertise.
