Former Congress MP demands Regional Council for Jammu

Jammu, Oct 31 : Former Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma demanded Regional Council for Jammu region on the pattern of Leh and Kargil Hill Development Councils to ensure direct funding from Centre apart from other benefits to the region.

”We have always voiced for the interests of the Jammu region and remained controversial from outside and within the party,” Mr Sharma said addressing election meetings at Bharda and Dasgal areas of Akhnoor in favour of his brother and MLA Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma yesterday.

”We do not adopt double standards but bluntly raise issues which effects the life of people directly or indirectly,” Mr Sharma said.
