Shivamogga, Dec 29 Shivamogga police have registered an FIR against BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur for her “keep-sharpened-knives” remarks at a convention organised by a pro-Hindu outfit.
The complaint was lodged by Shivamogga District Congress Committee President H S Sundaresh, police said on Thursday.
The case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on the ground of religion, and race) and 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs).
Pragya Thakur on December 25 had asked Hindus to keep their vegetable-cutting knives sharp for self defence in an eventuality of Love Jihadis attacking them.
