Dalai Lama’s security beefed up after release of Chinese female spy

Gaya, Dec 29  The security forces on Thursday detained a Chinese female Sang Zialang visiting Bodhagaya to attend the discourses of the Nobel Laureate and Tibetian spiritual leader
Dalai Lama under suspicion of espionage.
Senior Police Superintendent Harpreet Kaur said here that the Chinese lady was detained from Maharani Road and since then was being interrogated.
She said that massive search operation was taken up after getting inputs of espionage by a
Chinese female about Dalai Lama. The monasteries, hotels and guest houses in Bodhgaya
were frisked thoroughly after which the women was taken into police custody from Maharani
Road.
The SSP said that further action would be initiated on the basis of interrogation of the Chinese lady who had arrived here on October 19, 2019 to attend the discourses of Dalai Lama but could not return to China because of covid-19 pandemic.
She said that the local people had tipped up the police about the women collecting information about Dalai Lama. On the basis of the inputs the police swung into action and began to search the female after releasing her sketch.
Meanwhile, the security of Dalai Lama was beefed up in view of the espionage activities. Apart from the place where the spiritual leader Dalai Lama is staying, the security of the world heritage Mahabodhi Temple has been tightened.
