Engineer Hilal Ahmad War and Javaid Ahmad Mir were supposed to lead the procession to Eid Gah from Historic Maisuma of Civil Lines which was foiled by J & K Police .
SHO Maisuma Police Station arrested two boys , Ubaid Yousuf and Burhan of Maisuma aged about 17 years who are members of PPP’s youth wing in the wee hours yesterday and put them under lock up . It is pertinent to mention here that the aforesaid boys had donated their blood on May 17, 2014 in a blood donation camp organized by Awami Actio Committee of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq . The aforesaid boys were harassed and abused by police for donating blood in the name of humanity .
Hurriyat leaders have been arrested under the garb of preventive measures by the J & K police against a possible Eid Gah Chalo March on 21st May, 2014 which has already announced by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Hurriyat leaders, while endorsing Hurriyat programme has thanked people for observing complete shutdown and condemned the authorities for putting the leadership under house arrest and in police stations. The PPP Chairman and JKLF Chairman have been lodged in Police Station Kothi Bagh. Party spokesperson condemned their arrest in strong words saying it amounted to State oppression and a denial of right to expression. “This highhandedness of the State shows the times we are living in. If one is not even allowed to demonstrate peacefully, it leaves a big void for violent demonstrations,” said the PPP Spokesman.
