Srinagar, May 22, KMW: A Kashmiri youth who is known as ‘Islamic Rage Boy’ has been languishing in Central Jail from past five years was released today .
The family members of Shakeel Ahmed Bhat resident of Malik Angan Fateh Kadal Srinagar told KMW that Shakeel was arrested by the government in 2009 on the charges of organizing protests against police, and since then he is languishing in the jail.
Family members of Shakeel Ahmed told KMW that shortly after his release a police party from Rainawari police station appeared outside Srinagar Central Jail to re-arrest him, however, “we managed to foil the bid of police and safely drove him to home,†one of the family members said.
Welcoming the release of the Shakeel Ahmed, Democratic Political Movement Genera Secretary Muhammad Shafi Reshi who accompanied him from Central jail to his house said that Shakeel Ahmed is a true son of the soil whose heart is filled with love for his sacred land.(KMW)
