Srinagar: A gun battle raged between militants and the joint team of army and police at Naina in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police official told that acting on a specific information about the presence of some militants at Naina village, army’s 55 RR, 183 CRPF and SOG cordoned off the whole area.
“As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired few warning shots near the suspected spot, the militants hiding in the area tried to break the cordoned.
However, the joint team of forces cordoned off the whole area and sealed all the entry and exit points in the area to prevent the militants from escape.
When reports last came in, the cordon-and-search operation was going on.
