Div Com visits submerged areas in Srinagar city

SRINAGAR, Feb 25(KMW): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal, along with a team of officers today conducted extensive tour of Polo View, Samandar Bagh, Mandir Bagh, Lal Chowk, Sarai Balla, Hari Singh High Street, Lal Ded Hospital, Ram Bagh, Alochi Bagh and Barzulla areas and took stock of dewatering work in these submerged areas of Srinagar city.
Kansal visited all dewatering stations of the Srinagar city and reviewed pace of dewatering process on spot. He stressed upon the authorities to prepare a proposal for installation of permanent pump systems for dewatering in the city so that the submerged areas would not suffer in future.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Kashmir, Chief Engineer Power Development Department, Joint Director Information Kashmir and other officers accompanied the Div Com.
