Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon today convened a high level meeting and took stock of the arrangements made by the various concerned agencies in connection with ensuing Idd-ul-Azha.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Samoon urged on the officers particularly CAPD for ensuring the buffer stock of the essential commodities like besides taking necessary steps for maintaining the price line of the vegetables, mutton, poultry and Cheese besides providing necessary services so that the consumers may not face any inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by DIG, Kashmir, A.G. Mir, Joint Commissioner, SMC, Fayaz Ahmad Bala, Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, M.S. Rather, Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, S.M. Sood, Vice Chairman Waqaf Board, Prof. M. Y. Qadiri, S.P. Srinagar, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, Director, CAPD, ADCs of Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Bandipora, Budgam, Kulgam, Ganderbal, Superintending Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD and other concerned officers.
Director CAPD informed the meeting that mandies have been set up for sale of Qurbani animals at Eidgah Ration Depot near Soura, near Zandshah Masjid, Rainawari, Kak Sarai Maidanpora, Jamia Masjid, Nowhatta Chowk, Hazratbal, Foreshore crossing Nishat, Old Barzalla bridge and Exhibition Parking etc. concerned agencies have been directed to adhere the instructions in selling these animals on the said identified places. It was also informed that there is no shortage of essential items and presently 50527 metric tons rice, 6000 metric tons wheat, 4000 metric tons sugar besides a bumper stock of LPG and K. oil is available.
Meanwhile, the meeting was also informed that special instructions have been issued for selling of mutton, chicken broiler, layer chicken and other items on the rates presently existing and fixed by the Government. He said the Srinagar has been divided into four zones and for which checking squads have been framed and each squad will be headed by Assistant Director CAPD. Meanwhile, the Health department informed the meeting that four medical teams have been set up for providing medical aid at Eidgah, Jamia Masjid, Jenab Sahib Soura, Khankha Moulla and Syed Sahib Sonwar while Government Medical College, Srinagar will establish medical camp at Hazratbal Dargah. The PHE department has also made adequate arrangements by installing more posts at various places while Divisional Commissioner directed PDD for ensuring for proper power supply and also directed SMC officers for sanitation and cleanliness in and around the different Eidgahs and Mosques in Srinagar city.
