SRINAGAR: Minister for Medical, Technical Education and Youth Services, Sports, R.S. Chib today inaugurated football tournament at Village Khore, Pattan under “Sadhabhavana Scheme†which was organised by 2 RR.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said holding such tournaments is to explore that talent of budding sportspersons particularly living in rural areas and said developing sports fields and providing other infrastructure is the priority of the government. He asked the participants to take full benefits of these government schemes for proving their worth in the concerned fields.
Mr. Chib said the Chief Minister is very keen to promote the sports culture in the state and also thanked the Union Sports Minister for sanctioning three synthetic Football, one Hockey and 12 Archery centres for the state. The Minister lauded the role of 2 RR for organising such tournaments the motto of which is peace and harmony.
Brig. A.K. Tyagi, Commander 10 Sector and Shri Kiran Wattal, Secretary Sports Council were guests of honour on the occasion.
Two matches were played on the occasion; in the first match Magam Football Club defeated Khore Football Chib. A large number of civil population witnessed the match.
