Srinagar, April 04: Amid Coronavirus scare rising and cases ,deaths spiking allover the country and also in Jammu and Kashmir ,in a quite lethargic Development from the authorities the famous Sunday market Srinagar was thrown open .

The Sunday market in the Srinagar city is known for generating huge crowds and with little care given to the Standard Operating Procedures .

The Divisional Commissioner and Municipal commissioner Srinagar have been urged by the sane voices to crack whip on the Sunday market and ensure that it is closed as soon as possible.

Last year, The weekly flea market in the heart of the city, popularly known as ‘Sunday Market’, re-opened for business on Sunday after remaining closed for over eight months in view of the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

DC Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Ahmad stated on the matter made it clear that deprived sections have to earn livelihood so places like Sunday market have to be kept open but we will see to it necessary rules are followed . He made it clear that people will have to learn living with the virus.

On the other hand while speaking exclusively to the Kashmir Media Watch , Athar Aamir Khan , The Srinagar Municipal Commissioner stated :” We need to bear in mind that all the sectors of society amid Coronavirus pandemic follow the precautions and Standard Operating Procedures . We will visit the Sunday market and ensure that necessary precautions are taken by one and all . We would also be doing the necessary awareness on this thing . The health of people matters a lot to us .”
