New Delhi, July 20 The Delhi High Court on Wednesday adjourned for August 25 the hearing in the petitions against the Agnipath scheme of the Central government.
The Agnipath scheme was announced on June 14 to recruit youths in the armed forces, sparking protests in many parts of the country.
The Solicitor General on Wednesday informed High Court that the Supreme Court had on July 19 transferred all the petitions pending before it challenging the scheme.
The apex court has also asked the High Courts of Kerala, Punjab and Haryana, Patna and Uttarakhand to transfer the PILs against the scheme to the Delhi High Court or keep them pending till a decision from the Delhi High Court.
Delhi Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad then adjourned the matter for hearing on August 25.
