Dhaka: today condemned this morning’s Delhi blasts as a “cowardly act of terrorist nature” and said the government will deal with it firmly.
The Prime Minister, who is here on a two-day visit to Bangladesh, said “I have just heard the news from Delhi, I am told that 10 people have been killed, my heart goes out to the bereaved families, and to those who are injured I convey my best wishes.
“This is a cowardly act of terrorist nature. We will deal with it, we will never succumb to the pressure of terrorism,” Dr Singh said.
Dr Singh said fighting with terror was a long war in which all political parties and the people of India have to stand united so that the “scourge of terrorism is crushed”.
The blast took place at the Delhi High court premises this morning. The Prime Minister was at that time delivering his address at the Dhaka university here.
