Gaza, Apr 4 The death toll from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has topped 33,000, with more than 75,600 people injured, the enclave’s Health Ministry said on Thursday.
“The number of victims of the Israeli aggression since October 7 has risen to 33,037, with 75,668 people injured,” the ministry said in a statement.
Over the past 24 hours, 62 civilians were killed in the enclave, the ministry added.
On October 7, Palestinian movement Hamas launched a large-scale rocket attack against Israel and breached the border, attacking both civilian neighborhoods and military bases. Nearly 1,200 people in Israel were killed, and some 240 others were abducted during the attack. Israel launched retaliatory strikes, ordered a complete blockade of Gaza, and started a ground incursion into the Palestinian enclave with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas fighters and rescuing the hostages.
