DC Kargil Reviews SDRF Relief Distribution, Stresses Timely and Transparent Disbursement

Kargil, February 03, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, chaired a meeting on Monday to review the work done and the distribution of gratuitous relief to affected families under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). The meeting was convened to assess the status of relief measures and to ensure timely and transparent disbursement to the beneficiaries.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the progress of relief distribution and issues, if any, faced during implementation. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for close coordination among all concerned departments to ensure that relief reaches the affected families without delay.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed that after any disaster, temporary restoration of essential services and infrastructure shall be provided on priority. Emphasis was laid on strengthening preparedness to cope with challenges effectively through timely relief, mitigation and preventive measures, so as to minimize the impact of disasters.

Officers from various departments, including Public Works, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mechanical Engineering, Police, Revenue, Agriculture, Horticulture and other line departments, participated in the meeting. All Sub Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars were also present.

The Deputy Commissioner further emphasized maintaining proper records, verification of cases and strict adherence to prescribed guidelines while extending relief under SDRF.
