Srinagar, February 3: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K has registered a case against two individuals for allegedly securing admission to the MBBS Course–2023 at SKIMS Soura, Srinagar, by using fake and forged documents, officials said on Tuesday.

According to officials, the case was initiated following information from a credible source alleging that a resident of Ajas, Bandipora, obtained admission by submitting forged “Person with Disability” (PWD) and “Economically Weaker Section” (EWS) certificates, despite not being physically or mentally disabled.

Acting on the inputs, the Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar, conducted a preliminary verification, which revealed that the accused beneficiary, in connivance with another individual from Asham, Sumbal in Bandipora district, had procured a fake and forged PWD certificate.

On the basis of the forged document, the beneficiary allegedly secured selection and admission to the MBBS programme at SKIMS Soura, Srinagar, the EOW said in a statement.
