DC Kargil reviews progress of PM Vishwakarma Scheme

Kargil, February 25: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shrikant Suse convened a meeting to review the progress of the PM Vishwakarma, a Central Sector Scheme and its associated activities in the district.

The meeting was attended by General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) Kargil, CPO, Abdul Hadi, Joint Director, MSME DFO Jammu (virtually), FM DIC Kargil, Lead District Manager Kargil, Cluster J&K Bank Kargil, and the PMU Team (virtually).

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Rehmatullah Butt, General Manager of DIC Kargil, who highlighted the key points of discussion.

The agenda covered several vital aspects of the Vishwakarma Scheme, including a review of the implementation of the Vishwakarma Scheme, the status of training for artisans, disbursement of loans to artisans, awareness camps and outreach initiatives and the status of identified training centers in the Sub-Divisions.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Kargil thoroughly reviewed each of these topics, focusing on the effective implementation of the Vishwakarma Scheme and ensuring its impact on the local artisans.

He emphasized the importance of timely loan disbursements, the need for organizing awareness camps, and the establishment of identified training centers to empower the region’s artisans with relevant skills and financial support.

Special loan disbursement camps would also be arranged in Sub Divisions and District Headquarter.
