JAMMU, JANUARY 07: The Government on Thursday informed that 127 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 106 from Jammu division and 21 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 122176. Also 03 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 01 from Jammu Division and 02 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 187 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 110 from Jammu Division and 77 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 122176 positive cases, 2396 are Active Positive, 117877 have recovered and 1903 have died; 707 in Jammu division and 1196 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 4011893 test results available, 3889717 samples have been tested as negative till 7th January, 2021.
Till date 931185 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 28062 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2396 in isolation and 33630 in home surveillance. Besides, 865194 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 25532 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 431 Active Positive, 24650 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 451 deaths; Baramulla has 8014 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 98 Active Positive, 7744 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today), 172 deaths; Budgam reported 7649 positive cases with 86 active positive cases, 7453 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 110 deaths; Kupwara has 5581 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 104 Active Positive, 5384 recoveries (including 07 cases recovered today), 93 deaths; Pulwama has 5623 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 154 Active Positive, 5381 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today) and 88 deaths; Anantnag district has 4828 positive cases with 93 Active Positive, 4651 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today), 84 deaths; Bandipora has 4665 positive cases with 48 Active Positive and 4557 recoveries(including 03 cases recovered today), 60 deaths; Ganderbal has 4528 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 99 Active Positive, 4383 recoveries and 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2666 positive cases with 53 Active Positive, 2560 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths while as Shopian has 2528 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) 111 active positive cases, 2378 recoveries and 39 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 24202 positive cases (including 47 cases reported today) with 565 active positive cases, 23275 recoveries (including 83 cases recovered today), 362 deaths; Udhampur has 4150 positive cases (including 44 cases reported today) with 92 active positive cases, 4001 recovered (including 01 cases recovered today ) and 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3852 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 99 active positive, 3699 recoveries (including 12 cases recovered today) and 54 deaths; Doda has 3409 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 38 Active positive, 3307 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today) and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3226 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today) with 38 active positive cases, 3139 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today) and 49 deaths; Kishtwar has 2726 positive caseswith 16 Active Positive, 2688 recoveries and 22 deaths; Samba has 2789 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 198 active positive cases, 2552 recoveriesand 39 deaths; Poonch has 2464 positive caseswith 36 active positive, 2404 recoveriesand 24 deaths; Ramban has 2116 positive cases with 25 active positive, 2070 recoveriesand 21 deaths while Reasi has 1628 positive cases with 12 active positive cases, 1601 recoveriesand 15 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 122176 positive cases in J&K, 11357 have been reported as travelers while 11819 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1321 COVID dedicated beds, 1185 Isolation beds with 1136 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 108 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1949 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 123 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3666 COVID dedicated beds, 3382 Isolation beds with 3085 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 231 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
