Srinagar: A high level meeting of security officials to review the situation in Kashmir valley was held at BB Cantt here on Friday.
Official sources told that the meeting, chaired by the Security Advisor to the chief minister Omar Abdullah Lt Gen NC Marwah, deliberated on the prevailing security environment in the Valley and “the forthcoming challenges, while carrying out holistic introspection of the ‘way ahead’.”
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Marwah divulged on the ‘joint strategy’ and synergy achieved between all instruments of ‘national and state power’ in addressing security concerns during the “current impasse”.
The meeting was attended by DGP, Lt Gen SA Hasnain, GOC (Designate) Chinar Corps and senior officers of the Army, CRPF, BSF and intelligence agencies.
Meanwhile, soon after the meeting, Lt General N C Marwah, briefed the Governor, N N Vohra, about the security situation in the Valley.
In the discussions, lasting over an hour, various issues relating to infiltration from across the LoC, number and strength of the militant networks presently operating in the Kashmir Division were discussed, an official spokesman said here. This was General Marwah’s farewell call on the Governor.
