Lucknow, Aug 1 Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday took a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement on the Gyanvapi issue and said that the controversial statements being made by the leaders of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could be a part of political conspiracy of both the parties.
Mayawati tweeted, “Is BJP’s statement raising controversy regarding the Gyanvapi case which is pending in the court after SP’s statement regarding the construction of Badrinath temple by demolishing the Buddhist monastery not the result of a well-planned political conspiracy between these two parties? This is serious and very worrying.”
She said, “While the matter regarding the dispute regarding conducting survey by ASI in Gyanvapi case is still pending in the High Court on the instructions of the Supreme Court, then it is not only unnecessary but also unfair to make any comment regarding that dispute. It is necessary to respect and wait for the court’s decision.”
It may be noted that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in an interview had said that the Trishul and the deity figures in the Gyanvapi complex testify to the existence of a temple there.
Earlier, SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya termed Badrinath Dham as a Buddhist monastery and advocated ASI survey there.
