Constable shot at, critically wounded in Anantnag

Srinagar, April 08: A constable of Jammu and Kashmir police was shot at and critically injured by unidentified gunmen in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said here today.

They said constable Shabir Ahmad was shot at from very close range by gunmen at Lal Chowk, Anantnag, today.

Shabir, who was hit in the head, was immediately rushed to local hospital from where he was referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). He was in a very critical condition.

A hunt has been launched to nab the gunmen.
