Commissioner SMC Inspects Snow Clearance and Dewatering Operations in Srinagar

Srinagar, December 27: Dr. Owais Ahmed IAS Commissioner SMC, conducted a thorough inspection of snow clearance and dewatering operations in Srinagar City today.

During his visit, Commissioner reviewed the effectiveness of ongoing snow clearance activities, ensuring that all roads, lanes, bylanes, pathways, and walkways are being cleared efficiently to facilitate safe travel for residents. He assessed the allocation of resources and the collaboration among the teams involved in these operations.

In addition to snow clearance, the Commissioner visited permanent dewatering stations to evaluate their functionality. These stations are vital for managing waterlogged areas during periods of snowmelt and rainfall, particularly in low-lying areas. Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining these facilities to ensure they are prepared for any stormwater challenges.

Expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the SMC staff, the Commissioner encouraged residents to cooperate by taking necessary precautions during adverse weather conditions. He urged anyone facing issues related to snow clearance or waterlogging to reach out to the SMC’s 24/7 Control Room for assistance.
