SRINAGAR: Chief Information Commissioner of India, Satyanandan Mishra called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here this morning and discussed matters relating to the public empowerment through Right to Information Act (RTI).
Later, Chairperson of National Commission of Schedule Tribes, Dr. Rameshwar Oreon also met the Chief Minister.
J&K Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, Members and officials from NCST and Secretary Social Welfare and other senior officers from Social Welfare Department were also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed issues pertaining to the welfare of Schedule Tribes and weaker sections of the society.
The Secretary Social Welfare elaborated the schemes under implementation in the State aimed at betterment and holistic development of Schedule Tribes and weaker sections of the society. (KMW News)
