Chief of the Army Staff departs for New Delhi

Srinagar: Chief of the Army Staff General Bikram Singh visited the Rashtriya Rifles Headquarters at Dharmund and Sila as part of his visit to 16 Corps. The respective GsOC briefed him on the current situation. He also visited the Division Headquarters at Akhnoor. He was accompanied by GOC-in-C Northern Command, Lt Gen KT Parnaik and GOC 16 Corps.

During the two days visit, Gen Bikram Singh reviewed the security scenario as well as discussed various issues related to the Armed Forces with formation commanders.
He also interacted with troops deployed on the line of control as well as those on CI duties. The Chief complimented them for their selfless sacrifices in ensuring the sanctity of our frontiers and in facilitating return of normalcy in the State.
He exhorted the troops to uphold the core values of the Indian Army through dedication towards duty. The Army Chief departed for New Delhi in the afternoon.
