Srinagar: Karnataka based Human Rights organization, Peoples Democratic Forum (PDF) chairman and Indian Civil Society member, Nagari Babaiah who was a part of the Human Rights activist team which recently visited Kashmir Wednesday claimed that Indian Civil Society is afraid of uttering truth and reality about Kashmir while the fact is Kashmiri people yearn for self-determination.

“Our visit to Kashmir was very useful and after meeting Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and intellectual section of society, all the members of the team decided to make people of India aware about the ground reality of Kahmir,” N.Babaiah told Srinagar based news gathering agency CNS and added his organization will hold seminars and debates all across India to highlight the wishes of Kashmiri people.
He said that civil society of India is afraid of Saghparivar and other Hindu zealot organizations. “Selfishness prevails in every individual. India Civil Society members too contain this trait. They never highlight the true picture of Kashmir as they don’t want to face the wrath of Sanghparivar,” Babaiah said.
Coming down heavily on Indian government for turning Kashmir into a war-zone, PDF chairman told that Indian Army want the pot of militancy boiling in Kashmir. “Any sort of terrorism suits Indian government and Indian Army. Once peace will prevail, Army will have no role and this will not suit Army,” he said and added that his organization in league with others will highlight the Kashmir issue in its real perspective and will show the people of India how human rights violations are being committed in Kashmir.
“Our organization is in touch with the people of Kashmir from past 20 years and we are fully aware about the ground realities. We will appeal the people of India to be more democratic and support the right to Self-Determination for Kahmiri people,” he said.
