Chief of Army Staff meets Governor

SRINAGAR: General Bikram Singh, Chief of the Army Staff, met Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, at Raj Bhavan here this evening. He was accompanied by Lt. Gen. K. T. Parnaik, Northern Army Commander and Lt. Gen. Om Prakash, GOC 15 Corps.
During their more than an hour long meeting, the Governor and Chief of the Army Staff discussed various matters relating to internal and external security situation. Other issues having a bearing on security management were also reviewed.
This was General Bikram Singh’s first meeting with the Governor after he took over as Chief of the Army Staff recently. Recalling his earlier happy association with General Bikram Singh, when he served as GOC XV Corps, the Governor wished the Army Chief a most successful tenure.
