Bus plunges into river; 20 feared dead

Jammu: At least 20 passengers were feared dead and 12 others missing when an overloaded mini bus skidded off the road and plunged into the river Chenab in mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kasmir.

The mini bus JK06-2169, which was on way from Gandoh to Thathri this morning at around 0935 hrs, skidded off the road and plunged into the river, police spokesman told.

He said that the police, army and locals on receiving the information, rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.

Twenty bodies have been fished out of the river, he added. (KMW NEWS)
