Burglar arrested for theft attempt in Masjid in central Kashmir

Srinagar, January 1 (KMW): A burglar, who damaged CCTV cameras and other equipment, in mosque during burglary attempt was arrested by police in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, a police spokesman said on Monday evening.
He said Police Station Gund in Ganderbal had received a complaint that an attempt was made by unknown persons to commit theft in Jamia Masjid Gund.
The unknown thieves had unsuccessfully tried to break the safe of the masjid.
The CCTV cameras installed in the masjid as well as the recording equipment were found damaged and a television set attached to the CCTV cameras was found stolen.
In this regard FIR No 35/2017 was registered in Police Station Gund and investigation was started.
