Srinagar, Apr 9 (KMW): The President of Awami National Conference (ANC) Begum Khalida Shah has said that as the date of the parliamentary elections were coming closer the political parties were also speeding up their activities to lure the common people to vote for them.
According to a statement issued to KMW, Begum Shah said that in this backdrop every political party releases its elections manifesto which enunciates the plans and programmes that the party is going to work upon if they are voted to power. All this is done to impress the voters to cache in their votes. Begum Shah said that no individual person possessed a panacea to the serious issues which ailed India in the present time.
Lambasting the stand of BJP, Begum Shah lamented that BJP took pride in saying that they would target certain areas if voted to power. She further maintained that such retaliatory ideology was not only harmful and disastrous for those areas but for the entire nation at large. She further maintained that BJP must never forget that the common people of the areas which they aim to target out of vengeance had already suffered loads at the hands of leaders from time to time and had no strength to bear more. She further maintained that such negative ideas should never get any space or encouragement in the country and the need of the hour was to weld entire India inclusive of its communal diversity in to a unity and that was the only way towards the progress and prosperity of the nation.
Begum Shah further appealed all the leaders and political workers to distance themselves from any party or ideology that tries to divide India on communal, religious, sectarian or other lines. Begum Khalida Shah also deplored the ongoing mudslinging of political leaders amongst each other and said that it disturbed the very fabric of democracy and played negatively on the common masses of the country.
