West Bengal, May 6 Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday appealed to the people across West Bengal to cast
their votes fearlessly and defy the alleged threats of the ruling Trinamool Congress.
After holding about one km roadshow at Sadar Hospital Road on a truck decked with multi-colour flowers in support of BJP candidate
from Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency Rajmata Amrita Roy, Shah said the Election Commission has already assured the countrymen to hold elections freely and strict action against any intimidation.
” Only the BJP can stop infiltration in Bengal and hence Prime
Minister Narendra Modi needs people’s support for returning to the saddle for the third 3rd successive term in Parliament, ” Shah asserted.
Spelling out a long list of alleged corruption under the Mamata Banerjee regime like cut money business, extortion, arrest of the ministers after being caught with crores of money, discovery of bomb-making factories and confiscation arms and ammunition, torture of the sisters and women at Sandeshkhali by TMC goons, Shah said the list was unending as the government has failed to deliver goods to the people.
” This TMC government cannot stop all these irregularities and
various scams unless the people root out the present government to make path for the BJP to come to the power by voting generously to the symbol of Lotus, ” the Union Home Minister iterated.
Shah also thanked the supporters for joining his roadshow defying the heatwave and scorching sun and urged all to vote for Roy in large numbers on May 13, the fourth phase of polling.
Earlier Rajmata Amrita Roy told the gathering, ” Do not fear and cast your vote courageously as the TMC goons have been propagating that if any Hundu voter found near the BJP booths will be dealt accordingly. “
Shah, who arrived last night, will also address a rally at
Durgapur-Bardhaman Lok Sabha seat in favour of BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh.
Party sources said Shah held an organisation meeting last night and asked the BJP leadership to submit to him a detailed report on the Sandeshkhali “sting operation”.
The Trinamool Congress alleged that the saffron camp orchestrated the complaints of sexual crimes in Sandeshkhali in
North 24-Parganas.
