Islamabad : Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali, Benazir Bhutto’s murder case prosecutor has been shot dead in Islamabad by unidentified gunmen. The incident happened in a busy street in a middle-class area of Islamabad.
Dawn, the Pakistani online newspaper, reports that Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali, the state prosecutor of the Benazir Bhutto murder case, has been shot dead in Islamabad.
Dawn reports that according to the police, gunmen opened fire on the prosecutor’s car. Chaudhry was severely injured in the incident and died later from his injuries in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital in Islamabad. Doctors report that ten bullets hit his chest and shoulder.
Reports are that Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali has been receiving threats for a while. He was due to appear in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Friday (today) in connection to the Benazir Bhutto murder case. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on 27 December 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
