Jammu: Bajrang Dal today said en mass protests would be held at all district headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir, if troops would be withdrawn from sensitive areas of Kashmir.

”It is unfortunate that on one hand Army Chief and the Union Defence Minister A K Antony have said that militants are waiting across the line to sneak into the Indian Territory but despite that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is demanding removal of AFSPA from various locations in Kashmir,” Neeraj Doneria, Bajrang Dal convener, told reporters at a press conference here this afternoon.
Mr Doneria said, ”Removal of AFSPA will give a boost to the militancy in the state and will create disturbances.” The Bajrang Dal leader, however, alleged that to appease separatists’ ideology, the Chief Minister was reiterating his demand of withdrawal of troops from the Valley.
As per figures, 55,000 civilians and 10,000 army personnel have been killed in 22 years of militancy and over 5 lakh people have migrated so far from different parts of militancy affected areas.
”The government should rethink its decision on AFSPA and give more teeth to the Armed Forces. If they fail to do so, Bajrang Dal will be forced to demonstrate across the state,” he added.
