Srinagar: Baisakhi, the festival exhibiting the festivities of harvesting season was celebrated with traditional fervor across Kashmir Valley on Saturday. Thousands of Sikhs as well as Muslims visited Mughal Gardens which are traditionally opened on this day for visitors.
A huge rush of devotees was seen at Chati Padshahi in Kathi Darwaza where the devotees started showing up right from the morning. The devotees remained busy in Shabad keertan and offering special prayers throughout the day. The Gurdwaras at other places also witnessed a good rush of devotees on the occasion.
All Mughal gardens like Nishat, Shalimar, Harwan and the tulip garden witnessed remained abuzz with a huge rush of visitors from across the Valley. Besides the members of the Sikh community, hundreds of people from other communities visited the gardens while a good number of tourist from across the India were also seen enjoying in the gardens.
In north Kashmir hundreds of devotees from Sikh community visited the Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi in Varmul, Khawaja bagh and Paranpila in Uri.
