Baramulla, March 16: As part of the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” campaign to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today inaugurated a five day photo exhibition at Indoor Sports Stadium Baramulla.
The photo exhibition aims to highlight key aspects of India’s struggle for freedom, with special focus on the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Subhash Chandra Bose. A special commemorative session on Dandi March was also organised at the event.
The exhibition is being organised by Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), J&K Region in collaboration with District Administration Baramulla.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC complimented the organisers and said that a series of commemorative events having historical and cultural significance are being organised throughout the country. He said that the aim of such programmes is to familarise the new generation with the ideals and heroes of the freedom struggle and to instill a sense of patriotism among them. He paid rich tribute to these ideals and said that it should be the resolve and commitment of everyone to contribute towards nation building.
Senior officials from Ministry of Information & Broadcasting including Deputy Director (Media and Communication) Press Information Bureau (PIB) Srinagar Ghulam Abass, Media and Communication Officer PIB Srinagar Majid Mushtaq Pandit, Field Publicity Officer ROB J&K Shahid Lone besides District Information Officer Baramulla Mudassir Hussain were present among others concerned.
