Army porter among three killed in mishaps

Srinagar: An army porter was among three persons killed and 18 others including four army men were injured in separate road mishaps across the Valley since overnight, official sources told Press Bureau of India on Monday.
They said that a truck (JK01B-9855) carrying Army supply from Sharant Post to Khurhama Army Camp fell down in Nallah at Zab Khurhama in Lalpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, resulting in death
of driver Abdul Rashid Bhat son of Abdul Gani Bhat and Porter, Fakeer Mohammad Katarya son of Lal Din, both residents of Kuligam.
Three more porters and four Army personnel of 18-RR also received injuries and were hospitalized.
In another accident, a Sumo (JK01J-2571) hit and injured a pedestrian at Drangbal near JK Bank Pampore around noon. The injured, Mohammad Shaban Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat of Tulbagh, Pampore was rushed to SKIMS, Soura here where he succumbed to his wounds.
In another accident, a Maruti Car (JK01L-7014) hit a Motorcycle (JK16-1070) near Gulab Bagh Zakoora in outskirts of this summer capital, resulting in injuries to Motorcyclist Aabid Qureshi son of Ghulam Nabi of Wandhama Ganderbal.
A Maruti Car (JK05-6391) turned turtle near Mantaki Petrol Pump in Awantipora, resulting in injuries to Abdul Hamid Wani of Warpora Sopore, Dilshada Bano wife of Javid Ahmad, Javid Ahmad son of Mohammad Ismail of Noorpora Sopore and Mohammad Ramzan Shah of Model Town Sopore. All the injured were hospitalized. A motorcycle (JK01M-7544) hit and injured a pedestrian Aafaq Ahmad
Wani son of Mohammad Amin near Peer Bagh. The Motorcyclist Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat son of Mohammad Akbar of Nadir Gund Peer Bagh also sustained injuries.
A Tata 407 (JK01C-5049) hit and injured a pedestrian Abdul Hamid Rather son of Ghulam Rasool of Kant Bagh Kralpora at Kralpora Chandoosa. The injured was shifted to Bone & Joint Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
In yet another accident, a bus (JKD-4495) collided with a Maruti Car (JK03-1254) at Chandhara, Awantipora, resulting in injuries to three persons travelling in the Car. Injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment, officials added.
