“Based on the earlier inputs of the infiltration in Naugam sector, troops of TMG Brigade had laid ambushes all along the Line of Control at approximately 2200 hours. Suspicious move was observed by the ambush parties. As the infiltration group tried to cross the LC Fence, own party opened fire on the militants. Heavy firefight ensued between militants and own troops.” An army spokesman said in a statement.
“During the fire fight, three hard core foreign militants were eliminated apart from war like stores recovered from them during the search in the day time. Operations are still in progress. It is likely that remnants of militant group fled towards Pakistan-administered Kashmir.” Added the spokesman.
“Strict vigilance is being maintained on Line of Control by own troops to thwart any infiltration bid all along the 19 Infantry Division sector. This attempt of infiltration can also be viewed at the backdrop of repeated ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Naugam Sector during last week.” The spokesman further said.
