Srinagar: The masses all over Kashmir especially the summer capital of Srinagar city today protested against the lewdness and the recent blasphemous pages that popped up in face-book hurting the sentiments of the Muslim Community in particular and all Kashmiris in general. The historic areas of down-town Srinagar and also the up-towns especially Maisuma Locality of Lal Chowk, Srinagar reverberated after the Friday prayers.
Soon after the congregational Friday prayers people in large numbers gathered in different parts of Valley especially in Sopore,old-town Baramulla and also Srinagar especially Karan Nagar, Chana Pora, Saraibal, Nowhatta, Kral Pora, Maisuma, etc,.demanding stern action against the administrators of such pages. Meanwhile reports said that Maisuma locality youth pelted stones at police resulting in pitched battle between the police and youth and during the clashes two youth were arrested, one of whom has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad aged 18 (approx.). Pertinently, many of such controversial pages have already been removed by the Facebook, due to heavy and strong blocking and reporting by the youth.
