Srinagar: Rejecting the offer made by leaders of the proposed third front at the National Level inviting the party to join them, Awami National Conference (ANC) has rejected the offer stating that the approach of national parties has never been sincere towards Kashmir.
“Instead their approach has proved disastrous and created confusionâ€, said ANC senior Vice President Muzafar Shah in a statement issued from Delhi.
He said that the national leaders will be touring, Jammu and Kashmir state to woo the various political party leaders and workers.
Shah has cautioned his party workers to desist from being the part of such non-starter fronts for the betterment of the state.
“According to information Shah has received from knowledgeable sources that some of his party leaders and workers have been approached by national leaders to join them. While giving direction to his party rank and file, Shah has said those interested to join any front are free to leave his party and it is for them to decide the best for the state of Jammu and Kashmirâ€, a spokesperson of ANC said in a statement.
He further added that ANC central working committee is being convened by party chief Begum Khalida Shah in Srinagar to discuss fast changing political scenario in the country and the state in particular.
“Begum khalida shah has said that the ANC had come into being on the basis of its positive ideology. The party does not support any emotive outburst or any opportunistic noise. It does not believe in seeking solutions to peoples’ problems in attractive or populist event- mongeringâ€, the spokesperson added.
According to the ANC spokesperson, the third front leaders at national level have launched a search for regional allies in the state.
“In this exercise, the senior national political party leader has also approached Mr. Muzaffar Shah, senior vice president of Awami National Conference with the offer in New Delhi recently. The offer was for his party to join them and an important position for his party president Begum Khalida Shah to play vital role at national level. While thanking for the senior national leader’s offer of joining National Front, which is in the offing, Muzaffar Shah informed him that such offers and exercises have never worked in Jammu And Kashmir State in the past tooâ€, the spokesperson claimed.
