Srinagar , Jul 26 :Annual pilgrimage was progressing smoothly to the holy Amarnath cave in south Kashmir Himalayas, where so far 3.35 lakh yatris have paid obeisance to the self made Ice-Shivlingam since the commencement of the 45-day-long yatra from June 28.
The weather is pleasant and the pilgrims are moving towards the cave shrine since this morning.
A yatra official said that fresh batches of pilgrims left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps early this morning for the cave shrine.
The yatris, who left Nunwan base camp, will halt for the night at Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on the traditional route. Pilgrims, who had halted at different halting stations at night enroute also started their onward journey towards the shrine.
He said 6,289 pilgrims paid obeisance to the Holy Cave till last evening, a spokesman for the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) said adding that till yesterday, 3,31, 929 pilgrims had darshan of the Ice-Lingam. Majority of pilgrims have since returned to their homes after the darshan.
Pilgrims, who had stayed overnight at Panjterni reached the cave shrine today.(agency)
