Srinagar: Appealing people to boycott to work with outsider contractors, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani has said that outsider contractors would not be allowed to work execute contract work to exploit locals. He has asked officials to allow locals to extract sand from rivers, mountains and to provide them royalty rights.
Expressing anger and anguish over contracts allotted to outsider contractors, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani has accused authorities of exercising their powers to snatch the livelihood of locals labors. He has said that those who claim special status for J&K are selling resources of State and are responsible for anti labor policies.
According to statement issued to KMW, Geelani has said that to execute such contracts is being done under conspiracy. He has said that under conspiracy among the officials the local labors are deprived and adversely affected.
Accusing government of deliberately and intentionally assisting officials and encouraging them for this move. He has said that by executing such contracts with outsider’s amount to giving them (Outsiders) rights that equal to owners and making the local labors their slaves.
Geelani has said that it is not the matter pertaining to few people only here but is related to ‘nation’s hour’ and is linked with freedom moment.
Terming the ruling incapable, Geelani has said that like that of East India Company, ruling party and NHPC has hatched a conspiracy to weaken the economy of State.
He has appealed intellectuals, civil society and other dignities to aware people on this sensitive issue.
