SRINAGAR: Al-Balag Tours & Travels, a Company based at Hari Singh High Street Srinagar, has been alleged of fraudulent practices and deception by some aspirant Hajis. According to them they had completed all the formalities and had provided the required money long back and had been promised by the said company to be sent for the holy pilgrimage on 27th October, 2011 which never took place to their dismay and misfortune.
The affected aspirants lamented that they had even conducted Haj leaving functions/ceremonies at their respective places and were shocked to discover their inability to move on for the holy pilgrimage. The aspirants said that on calling the said company in the evening of 26th October for passport and tickets the company’s owner denied the same. The browbeaten Haj aspirants have registered a case of fraud against the said company and also held a protest against it at Jahangir Chowk Srinagar on 27th morning.
The names of Haj aspirants protesting the mal-practice/fraud by Al-Balag are -Abdul Rahman khan son of Ghulman Nabi Khan Tengpora Srinagar along with his wife. Maqsood Ahmad Dar resident of Tengpora along with a women relative and Abdul Ahad Khan along with his wife. These six Haj aspirants, (three gents and three women) have alleged the said company of malpractice and fraud .According to the disheartened Haj aspirants the said company has taken excess money to facilitate others and also duped their amount.
The Kashmir Media Watch team on its attempt to ascertain the matter was amazed to see the office abandoned by the employees who had more probably fled away, and the owner of the Company not responding to repeated attempts of contact over the phone by the KMW team.
