Akhoon reviews post snowfall scenario

SRINAGAR: To assess the post snowfall situation, the Minister for CAPD and Transport, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon convened a high level meeting of concerned officers.
The Chairperson, Women’s Development Council and MLA, Habba Kadal, Ms. Shamim Firdous, MLA Hazratbal Dr. Mustafa Kamal, MLA Peer Afaq and MLA Batmaloo, Mr. Irfan Ahmad Shah were also present in the meeting.
The Minister sought information regarding stock position of rice, sugar and other essentials including kerosene oil and LPG.
The Minister said that Gurez, Keran, Wadwan and Dachhan areas of Valley are well stocked in foodgrains. While further supplies are being imported which is a continue process. He said that some vested interests are intentionally spreading rumours about non-availability of foodgrains to create situation conducive for profiteering and hoarding.
Mr. Akhoon said that Gas Agencies are being established at block level in Valley which will streamline the supply of LPG to consumers. He said that the Valley consumers will be provided additional 2 litres of kerosene oil per family.
The MLA’s present in the meeting informed the Minister about problems being faced by the people in their respective constituencies.
The Minister ordered immediate redressal of problems. (KMW News)
