Srinagar, 13 August: Police on Wednesday booked three WhatsApp group admins for airing rumours and fabricated information to the people in Kashmir Valley.
Police has registered FIRs under section 66/IT Act bearing numbers 163/2014 in P S Budgam, 217/2014 in P S Baramulla and 198 /2014 in P S Pulwama and booked three WhatsApp group admins Javed Ahmad, Syed Tahir Bukhari and Raja Hilal from Budgam, Baramulla and Pulwama respectively for airing rumours and fabricated information that could create disturbances and vitiate peace, a police spokesman in a statement issued to KMW said.
Investigation into various updates and posts that have surfaced on the WhatsApp and other social Networking sites is going on. More arrests are expected, the spokesman added.
