Srinagar, Sept 24 : Two policemen and a CRPF jawan were among seven people injured in a grenade attack near a bank at apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla today, official sources said.
They said unidentified militants hurled a hand grenade towards CRPF picket near State Bank of India (SBI) at main chowk Sopore, about 55 km from here. However, the grenade missed the bunker and exploded on the roadside causing injuries two policemen, a CRPF constable and four civilians. The injured police constables were identified as Bashir Ahmad and Aquib Ahmad.
The injured were rushed to a hospital, where their condition is stated to be stable. Though security forces launched search operation immediately, the militants managed to escape.
