14 charred to death in GAIL pipeline explosion

Kakinada, Jun 27 (KMW): At least 14 people, including women and children, were killed and nearly 80 injured, when a leaking gas pipeline of Gas Authority of India Limited(GAIL), exploded in Nagaram Village of Mamidikuduru Mandal in Konaseema Region of East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh early today.

According to AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, 14 deaths have been reported even as many were critically injured and admitted to various hospitals in Amalapuram, Razole, Rajahmundry and Kakainda.

Nearly 10 acre of coconut trees and houses nearby the accident spot were damaged in the fire.
