Srinagar: Five persons died while five others were injured in two separate road accidents across the valley.
Five persons died and four others were injured when a Sumo bearing registration number JK09/1192 they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell in a gorge at Z-Morh on Machil-Kupwara Highway. The deceased persons have been identified as Hashim Jan wife of Mohammad Yaseen Tantry resident of Chottwari, Saleema daughter of Mohammad Yousf Tantry resident of Chottwari, Zameer Ahmad Hadi son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Chottwari, Humunin Sharma resident of Rajasthan and Abdul Rashid Cheche son of Mir Alam resident of Sarkul Kalarooch. Four persons were injured in the mishap have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
A Tata Mobile bearing registration number Jk09/0676 hit and injured 81 years Shams-ud-din Khatana son of Habibullah Khatana resident of Banday Kalarooch at Drugmullah near B. Ed College. The injured was shifted to Bone and joint Hospital, Srinagar for treatment. Kupwara Police has registered a case in this regard.
