Youth shot dead in Sopore

Srinagar: A youth was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district this evening. Reports said that unidentified gunmen appeared in Chankhan locality of the Apple town around 8:30 PM and shot at and critically injured Shams ud din Parray, 24, son of Ghulam Hassan.
The injured youth succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the nearby hospital. The slain was a street vendor.
Soon after the incident, Special Operations Group (SOG) of police and CRPF troops cordoned off the area and started manhunt to nab the unknown gunmen. However, the cordon was lifted later.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.
