Today World Water Day 2021 calls for valuing water resources World Water Day 2021.
World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without it .

It is said that next major wars would be fought on the issue of water .
On World Water Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ”Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain” campaign for conserving water. Urging women to take leadership of Jal Jeevan missions, PM Modi said “positive results” will be achieved under their leadership. “No one understands the value of water better than women, if water conservation is handed over to women, they will ensure unimaginable positive results,” he said.

The value of water is profound and complex. There is no aspect of sustainable development that does not fundamentally rely upon it.
Due to mad urbanism the valley of Kashmir too has lost its precious water resources and at larger level the world too is not doing any better .
The oceans and rivers in such despair that the IUCN and London Zoological society’s Living Planet Report finds that freshwater fish species have declined by 75% and ocean species by over 50% in the last 40 years.

One hopes we value the water and in coming years revive our lost water bodies .
