Jammu: Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti today asked the Jammu and Kashmir Government to withdraw cases registered against 5,000 youths in Srinagar otherwise the party would launch agitation.
“Teenagers were lodged in jails for stone pelting and about 5000 FIRs are still pending in various police stations of Srinagar,” Ms Mufti said in her speech in the House on Chief Minister’s grants on General Administration Department.
“We will agitate in every nook and corner of Srinagar, if the government will not withdraw all the FIRs against youth,” she lamented.
“No matter the government term the stone pelters as PDP activists, the party will continue fighting for them unless all the cases would be withdrawn and those lodged in jails would be released,” she added.
